Find the missing King

In the following diagram, the White king has been accidentally knocked off the board.  Where was it?

And yes, the diagram is correct; Black is in check.

    K is on c3 having just moved from b3 - still impossible?

    Won't spoil it for others to try and figure out how it is possible.

    Will post logic later.

    Not so Anonymous Sumpton is quite correct.

    The starting position for those few who are still baffled was:

    White K on b3, in check from bishop
    White P on c2, and
    Black P on b4, remaining pieces as diagram
